Dave – Daycare Attendant

What experience do you have in the industry?

I’m new to Doggy Daycare, but having grown up on a large sheep and cattle station in western Queensland I am familiar with animal husbandry and large numbers of dogs (Namely the hordes of Kelpie working dogs which were ever present!)

It gave me a good understanding, respect, and love for animals of all kinds and also let me see how dogs tend to behave around one another in large groups.

What is your favourite type of dog?

I have become quite fond of Great Danes. They are like giant puppies, so friendly and gentle. I am also a fan of Labradors as they were the family pet for decades, but if I were going to adopt a dog now, I would seriously consider a beagle.

What pets do you have?

Sadly, none right at the moment. I have grown up with dogs and cats a staple of family life, and my family has had a cream Labrador around ever since I can remember. So I visit my parents to get my pet fix, when I’m not at work! Soon I think I will have to get a rescue dog…

What is your favourite part of working at Paddington Pups?

Dogs are nicer than people and they never complain!

I love being able to come to work and enjoy the company of dozens of surrogate pets each day, building bonds with dogs and looking forward to seeing furry friends every time I walk in the door. Plus the other staff and clients are quite nice…
