It seems that everyone is experiencing an outbreak of fleas with the warm, humid weather we have had lately.
I have had two people comment last week that their dogs went home from day care with fleas. As a result, we at Paddington Pups have gone above our usual flea and clean routine and taken extra measures to ensure that the environment here
is flea free (any questions ask our friendly staff).
All the beds and cushions are regularly flea washed and treated at Paddington Pups, however we are currently going to extreme efforts to avoid the issue of fleas.
Fleas thrive on the environment in order to survive, therefore we ask our Paddington Pups parents that live in particularly bushy areas or muddy-prone backyards to be especially careful of fleas on dogs, as the fleas are able to travel to other environments.
Unfortunately with dogs, fleas are a part of life. I will, however, ask everyone to be vigilant – particularly for the month of April – to break this cycle. We should see a decrease in fleas naturally when we start to get some colder weather.
If you notice fleas on your dog please either take care of this issue at home or let us know as soon as they come into day care so we can flea bath them as soon as possible. Flea baths are $13. Ensure that your dog doesn’t share it’s fleas with its friends at day care.
Good stuff on Fleas Paddington Pups Blog. I even agree with most of it!
