Yolanda (Pack Leader and Dog Consultant)

What experience do you have in this industry?

I grew up in the Blue Mountains owning many big dogs as well as a pig, cats, fish, ducks and birds. From a young age it has always my goal to get into the animal care industry.

I moved to Brisbane with my partner and decided to change my career path and follow my passion, so I enrolled in Certificate 3 in Companion Animal Services. I completed some of my work experience through Paddington Pups and got a job out of it. Now I work with amazing people and dogs doing what I love!

What is your favourite type of dog?

I adore Rhodesian Ridgebacks mainly because as a kid I grew up with one called Bud and spent most of my time in the back yard with him, and so that breed will always hold a special place in my heart.

What pets do you have?

I have a gorgeous Malamute cross Husky called Dexter who loves coming to work with me and a Manx cat called Elvo, who has been my pal since I was 8 years old.

Favourite part of working at Paddington Pups?

I love that my job allows me to hang out with a variety of dogs all with different behaviours and personalities, and that I have the opportunity to interact with them on a daily basis. I also get a kick out of watching them playing and goofing about.
